Pierangelo Rosati (DCU Business School) - Seminar on R

• Data Types and Data Structure: What are the different types of data types? What is the difference between structured and unstructured data? Which types of data sources organizations and researchers are currently using?
• Introduction to Databases and SQL Definition and types of databases and basic SQL commands for data retrieval.
• Data Analytics using R: Data structure, working with data frames, and introduction to R functions.
• Natural Language Processing using R: text cleaning, mono-grams, n-grams, sentiment analysis and features extraction

Short bio: 

Dr. Pierangelo Rosati is Assistant Professor in Business Analytics at DCU Business School, Director of Industry Engagement at the Irish Institute of Digital Business (IIDB), and Deputy CEO at European Capital Markets CRC (ECMCRC).

He previously worked as Post-Doctoral Researcher of the Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce (IC4).

Dr. Rosati holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy). Dr. Rosati has been working on a number of research projects on data analytics, business value of IT, FinTech, Blockchain, cloud computing, and cyber security, many of them in direct collaboration with industry. His research has been published in leading academic journals and international conferences.
