The closing event of the PRIN 2022 BUMOLDS project will take place on February 26, 2026, at the University of Bologna, Department of Management (via Capo di Lucca 34, Bologna, Italy). The event will provide an important opportunity to present and discuss the project’s results and to reflect on the future of local delivery platforms within the broader platform economy.
The day will begin at 11:00 with welcome remarks and an introduction by Annamaria Tuan (University of Bologna).
At 11:15, two distinguished keynote lectures will open the academic discussion.
Julian Wichmann (Tilburg University) will deliver a keynote titled “Platformization in Marketing Research and Practice”, exploring the implications of platformization for marketing research and practice.
He will be followed by Daniel Trabucchi (Politecnico di Milano, Director of the Platform Thinking HUB), who will present “Platform Thinking for a Sustainable Impact”, focusing on how platform thinking can foster sustainable impact.
After a Q&A session and a networking lunch, the afternoon roundtable will be dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the PRIN BUMOLDS project results.
The debate will address the comparison between big platforms and local delivery platforms within the food delivery ecosystem, with contributions from Daniela Andreini, Federico Mangiò, Elvana Blakaj, and Giuseppe Pedeliento (University of Bergamo).
The consumer perspective on local delivery platforms—covering adoption, practices, expectations, and policy implications—will be discussed by André Luiz Vieira Soares, Angela A. Beccanulli, Silvia Biraghi, and Rossella C. Gambetti (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan), together with Matteo Corciolani and Daniele Dalli (University of Pisa).
The suppliers’ perspective will be explored by Federico Mangiò, Elvana Blakaj, and Giuseppe Pedeliento (University of Bergamo), Annamaria Tuan and Marco Visentin (University of Bologna), focusing on B2B relationships, dependence, communication, and sustainability.
The session will conclude with the presentation of the BUMOLDS Business Model Canvas, aimed at designing business models for local delivery platforms.
