This study investigates how formerly backstage activities are translated into frontstage performance accountability in open plan offices and restaurant and hotel dining open kitchens. It examines group and individual operational and financial performance accountability in the management of open plan/Activity Based Working offices and hospitality industry open kitchen restaurants.  Interpersonal performance accountabilities in these organizational spaces are revealed as proactive contributors to performance delivery and its longer term consequences.
