Disaster risk for Banks' risk management
Climate risk affects financial intermediaries through physical and transitional risk (related to increased operating costs due to R&D investments to support the transition to a low-carbon economy). Central banks are increasingly interested in understanding how climate risks translate into financial risks. The project aims to develop a measure of climate risk to which small and medium-sized Italian companies are exposed. Attention will be paid to a measure exogenous to the individual company, and subsequently, geographic/sectoral information will be combined with firm-specific measures.
