Call for expression of interest for a profile of Assistant Professor

The Department of Management launches a call for interest in a profile of an Assistant Professor in Strategy, Innovation, International Business, and Entrepreneurship.

Application deadline: March 20th, 2024

Job Position: Assistant Professor, with research and teaching obligations.

Length: 6-year contract followed by a tenure evaluation (fast tenure track). Promotion to tenured associate professor is possible with satisfactory teaching and publication performance.

The positions could be officially launched in the following months – following the standard procedures and the official communication channels -  and the appointment could begin by the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

Position Requirements

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent qualification obtained in Italy or abroad. We are particularly, but not exclusively, interested in candidates with first-rate method skills and researching topics such as strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and international business.

Candidates are expected to show a good research track record in leading management journals, relevant teaching experience, an interest in developing courses and study programs, and the ability to add to the research reputation and productivity of the group.

Tenure-track positions involve teaching the equivalent of 60 hours per year in English or Italian at the undergraduate and/or MSc levels and, potentially, involvement in executive education programs at Bologna Business School.

Salary is determined by national provisions, and funding for research-related activities, including travel to international conferences, is provided. In addition, faculty are supported in applying for research funding from the Italian Science Foundation (MUR) and other European funding agencies.

Expression of interest

The expressions of interest should be submitted via online form by March 20th, 2024, including a cover letter and CV, a one-page research statement, and a one-page statement of teaching philosophy.

Interviews will take place online via Teams in late March/early April.

DiSA faculty have published in prestigious outlets, including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Business Venturing, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Research Policy, Strategic Management Journal, and Strategic Organization.
