PUBLIC ART PROJECT / Phase 2 - 2025

In 2024, the Department of Management promoted a public art project conceived by Parsec in collaboration with Andrea Gianfanti for the space in front of the entrance to its headquarters in Via Capo di Lucca 34 in Bologna.

The project involved three artistic interventions to propose a dialogue between the public space and the people who pass through it, with the intention of listening, evaluating, and understanding the relationship created between the interventions presented and the different possible forms of creative interaction.

The initiative attracted the interest of artists and citizens experiencing the surrounding space, with active online and offline involvement.

It was therefore decided to continue with phase two, continuing to develop artistic interventions that engage the community and stimulate dialogue.

The second phase of the project includes five new interventions to be implemented between March 2025 and February 2026:

The project also includes the publication “Visual Culture in Urban Art,” which will collect all the interventions made as part of the public art project for the Department of Business Sciences at the University of Bologna (2024-2026).

OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS AND CURATORS

TANGLE - Visual Culture in Urban Art - Art City 2026

See the call and apply by 15th December 2025

Parsec is launching a call for undergraduate students at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna (ABABO) and students from the Department of Arts at the University of Bologna, specifically those enrolled in the Visual Arts programs (SMART and AMAC curricula). The call is open to artists and young curators who wish to participate in the latest project of TANGLE – Visual Culture in Urban Art, a public art project developed by Parsec and Andrea Gianfanti in collaboration with the Department of Management.

TANGLE examines the relationship between contemporary art and urban space, investigating how visual culture can intervene in and reinterpret everyday spaces.

The project produced five site-specific interventions, inviting national and international artists to work on the wall of Via Capo di Lucca (Bologna). Each intervention was accompanied by a process of local research, contextual observation, and moments of discussion, with the aim of transforming the wall into a device for experimentation, narration, and dialogue.

This call launches the final phase of the project, through a collaboration with undergraduate students from the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna and the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Bologna, and will lead to the creation of a new work that will be installed and presented during the week of Art City 2026.
