Supply chain experts understand well the complexity of product supply chains but only rarely consider the labour supply chains of workers involved in producing those products. However, the labour supply chain is a key determinant of working conditions. Understanding it better is critical to combatting exploitation in supply chains. In this paper, we develop new conceptual understandings of the labour supply chain and explore the implications for research and practice.
