Internationalisation call – Real Estate Finance

Financing Institution:  Fondazione Carisbo

Coordinator: Prof. Massimiliano Marzo

Duration: 1 year -from 18 September 2019 to 18 September 2020

Objective:

The Real Estate Finance project involves the study and analysis of the financial aspects of the real estate market. The starting point is the study of the reasons why the NAV of real estate funds is different from the value of the assets transferred (as in the vast majority of cases discounted). This will include the analysis of a database relating to real estate funds listed on the European market compared to the US one. Besides, the project foresees the investigation of the evolution of the real estate values in the Italian market over the past few years and its fundamental determinants. The research work should lead to the formulation of a series of policies and best practices that will allow improving the liquidity of real estate funds. The project will be carried out thanks to the contribution of a leading international researcher, prof. Daniel W. C. Quan ( Cornell SC Johnson College of Business Cornell University -USA), who will be hosted at the Department of Business Sciences between 2019 and 2020, as a visiting professor.
