Erasmus Intensive Programme - Sustainable Refurbishment, Retrofit and Energy Management in Housing (2nd edition)

The IP project "Sustainable Refurbishment, Retrofit and Energy Management in Housing” is the 2nd year project. The host university will be Corsican Universitede Corse Pasquale Paoli university. The University of Bologna contact person is Prof. Massimo Bianchi of DISA.

IP will involve first cycles (BA) 57 students and 23 lectures from 11 participating HEI from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University ( Lithuania), VIA University College (Denmark), University of Salford  and University of Westminster (United Kingdom), Instituto Politecnico de Braganca (Portugal), Warsaw University of Technology (Poland), Alma Mater Studiorum (Italy), Hochschule fur Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin  (Germany), Universite de Valenciennes et du Hainaut Cambresis and Universitede Corse Pasquale Paoli  (France) and Tallinn University of Applied Sciences (Estonia)  to work intensively for 12 days together in 12 international team/groups using a common language of English.

The groups work autonomously and with a high degree of self-determination. The course "Sustainable Refurbishment, retrofit and Energy Management In Housing" provides students with a deeper insight into different approaches to sustainability, refurbishment and management in the context of the building.

International student groups will be prepared for project based learning and multidisciplinary group work involving team building and social interfacing before taking on the main task of analyzing existing norms, standards, examples and guidelines from EU and the participating countries.

Main activity phases are: Sustainable research at Corsican host Universitede Corse Pasquale Paoli University - international group forming at host university - lectures and analyzing results and lecture topics - visits to architects and building companies - implementation of analyzing results into actual French refurbishment housing project - project work - students evaluation preparation - oral students presentation - students group evaluation and evaluation's feedback. Experts from outside the academic world will help to approach these issues from a very realistic and professional perspective.

Each student will be awarded  5 ECTS credits for their participation in the project.

There will be cultural programmes - cultural and social trips should be made to historic and cultural centers on Corsica. Mountain walk with picnic, a day on the coast, opening and closing parties. At the very beginning each university will present their institution and country.

Project budget covers students accommodation in the universities hostel costs (each student will have separate room with bathroom), 2 meals (breakfast and lunch) and some cultural events. Students will get 25 EUR/day for those expenses. Travel tickets will cover 75%, but to fixed amount (it depends from which country will be participants).
